DoubleSUPER NICE BRAD ICE
Bass/Backing vocals
In the rock and roll county of Wiltshire, a legend was born. 2 years after that I moved to the Portsmouth area to begin my career as a professional drunk and picked up the bass along the way. to edit
I picked up the bass for many reasons but they were mainly down to un-renowned but talented bassists and musicians. I felt the bass never really got the praise it deserved and there seemed to be a certain ilk needed to become a bassist, plus it only had four strings so you couldn’t go wrong!
I learnt bass playing folk music with my accordion playing father and swiftly moved on to blues, rock and a little bit of funk and jazz.
The band! Well I went to same college as Sic although never spoke to him. I joined a covers band with Greg which was a good time for me as I got to play gigs again, and after the singer left/got fired Sic filled in for us. On the side line we thought about making a ‘Foo Fighters’ tribute band which is where I met Craig (whom I am now cousins with, although I like to think of us as lovers!). The tribute band didn’t pan out and the covers band split. I formed a band with three other people called Jim when Greg phoned to ask if I would be interested in joining Jenna’s. My initial thoughts were that I couldn’t leave my Jims but in the end my apologies can only go out to Jim1, Jim 2 and of course who could forget Jim 3.
I feel we have a good band relationship with each other, Greg’s the organiser, Craig’s the recorderer’ and Sic’s my drinking partner. All of whom are very talented at what they do.
If you would like to know more about me, ask me questions or come to my annual convention please feel free to join my appreciation society on Face book. (Please note all applications are heavily vetted and not all applicants are successful.)
